The Faculty of Medicine was founded in 1842, making it one of the oldest Medical Facuties in Latin America. 

It is a pioneer in training health professionals in all areas of Health Sciences.

Eight careers are offered: Nursing, Phonoaudiology, Kinesiology, General Medicine, Nutrition and Dietetics, Obstetrics and Child Care, Medical Technology (Speech Therapy), and Occupational Therapy.

Researh Intership: minimum three months

Practical Intership: minimum four weeks

One semester study

First semester: March to July

Second Semester: August to December

February: University is closed.

Yes. This requires a letter of invitation from the researcher and the academic unit.
Applications are due October 15th for the first semester and April 15th for the second semester.

You need to submit an application as a guest student. Contact the Office of International Affairs for assistance.


This depends on your country of origin. Please contact the Chilean Embassy or Consulate in your country. You can enter as a tourist for up to 90 days. For more than 90 days you will need to apply for a student visa.
You should consider a minimum between US $ 1000 and US $ 1200 for lodging, food, local transportation and incidentals. Chile is relatively expensive.
