GRONINGEN UNIVERSITY

International collaboration with Groningen University

ABOUT

Universidad de Chile has developed over the years strategic partnerships in order to achieve a collaboration that is broader and deeper than individual collaborative projects, suitable to provide considerable added value to the existing collaboration between individual researchers and international student and staff mobility.

The hallmark within these partnerships follows the principle that joint efforts are aligned in a set of shared values, such as nurturing and promoting an international environment that can guarantee cutting edge research; the capacity to recognize each other as equal partners, procuring always a horizontal cooperation; the strengthening of a share academic project that engages the university community ; transparency and friendship.

In this context, Universidad de Chile (UCH) and the University of Groningen are celebrating nearly a decade of excellent academic relations becoming strategic partners in several initiatives. The joint efforts consider substantial research initiatives and the establishment of several programmes on the postgraduate level, particularly the double degrees in joint thesis supervision(cotutelle) developed over the last five years, and the Joint Doctoral Program (JDP) in biomedical sciences. Rectors Ennio Vivaldi of UCH and Elmer Sterken of Groningen signed the JDP agreement on July 2018.

The Postgraduate Department of the Vice-Presidency of Academic Affairs is pleased to launch this website where can concur simultaneously the efforts on the postgraduate level and research associate, in addition, to serve the purpose of visibility and information for scholars, students and professional staff about the current affairs and collaboration with the University of Groningen.
